i (heart) disneyland!

oh my!what a day it had been, its now 1am back in my room in hmc, just back from disneyland over an hour ago.. disneyland was cool!it was really fun experiencing all the rides, the speed, thrills, drops and heart stopping turns. like toally OH MY GAWD. my MOST FAVOURITE ride in the whole of disneyland was SPACE MOUNTAIN. i think i experienced the most adrenaline in that ride, maybe for once i have overcome my fear of the rollercoasters, and i could finally did the “raise my hands in the air and scream like an idiot” thing!haha! finally huh!hmm as for the rest of the rides, i thought the initial rides that i went to were quite fun, fantasyland stuff was really meant for the kids and so it was quite boring for me, not to mention that we were physically tired and drained by the sun in the middle of the day, it was definitely not a wise choice to go to those slow and dark rides. oh well cos we had to fit the rides into our schedule and the timing of our fastpasses, we had no choice but to try those then. okay actually it wasn’t so bad.

and i think disneyland is a really cool idea cos they really tried to put things together, from the music to the sceneries ( hmm well technically the environment is man made but the builders really deserve a good commendation) ha, this is not going to be a very detailed or long entry cos this blog is mainly for me to record certain things down for propersity purposes. omg, i am so tired, sunburnt, and freaking HUNGRY! brr and i haven’t calculated my daily expenses, packed my stuff, nor packed my bag for tmr. damn sian. i just wanna sleep and go out like what we did today. btw, i was quite impressed with the action today and that was the highlight of the day i think. NO, actuallynot. it’s disneyland!

i’m so going to bring hf and mama along the next timeĀ  i go travelling. and the closest other than the one in hongkong will have to be tokyo, and i’m definitely interested in going there co sof the unique culture!!!!!

tokyo! here i come. sleep. stop making me ocnfused n not knowing what i am typing. =x

good friday part II

alright, here are the photos of my bao-making attempts..something is wrong with my internet today though. the connection keeps resetting, and i couldn’t upload my photos into facebook (i still can’t, btw) and because of the slowness of the internet…i shall only upload two photo, before and after shots

the not so appetizing baos the first time round

1st attempt at bao making

today’s successful baos :)

)

even the colour looks different already. its always a great experience when your food turns out yummy :D feeling like baking some desserts tmr. tiramisu or meringues anyone?

reading some people’s blogs right now, some quirk that i discovered in my secondary school days, i’ll randomly type someone’s name into google and scroll through whatever that pops out. fun and sometimes i get interesting reads. actually i’m not sure why i’m starting this blog, do i actually crave for some attention, to show that i’m popular (yada yada..) or just as a record of my life? the previous blog that i had wayy back in secondary school was created at a time when i was filled with angst about everything in life. things weren’t going too well then and blogging was my only way of releasing all those negative thoughts.. yes yes i did harbour a lot of depressing thoughts then, mainly about fitting in and stuff about having enough money i think. but then the blog has now been lost, memories and a part of my old life disappeared into the ever expanding world called “internet” i guess now that i’ve mellowed quite a lot and generally not too bothered by the competitiveness of “i must have what you have” this blog will not be as depressing as before!

good friday..

its raining heavily outside(again..), been raining in the afternoons for the past two weeks and its always freezing cold in the office when that happens. then i will scuttle to the office pantry to make a cup of super duper thick cup of Milo to drink (lotsa milo powder and one turn of sugar).i love huddling with my cup of milo in the quiet office and savouring the sweet liquid as it cascades down my throat, ahh that’s life. :D

and yes, it’s good Friday today, no need to go to work, no waking up at 630am every morning, fall back into bed again and attempt to wash up and everything else in 15mins and haul my ass out to jurong east by 730am…in fact i slept at 11pm last night and woke up only at 11am this morning :)

i was supposed to do a little exploration with jj today, visit bugis village for some shopping and then to haji lane to visit their quaint shops and all.. but in the end, she was not feeling well and we had to postpone our little outing!anyways, GET WELL SOON TWINY!

on a good note, since i had so much free time today, I decided to bring forward my PAU making since I’ve already bought the ingredients over the past week. my mum was already making huat kueh in the kitchen by the time i woke up and the kitchen was filled with the fragrant pandan scent, delicious!i never knew that pandan leaves were boiled together with coconut cream to make into a syrup for the huat kueh and when pandan leaves are added into the water for steaming, the food is infused with the gentle scent of pandan..nice!

i tried making PAU last week, but the entire process was kind of rushed (cos i was trying to squeeze the preparation in between appointments) and the PAU ended up being quite hard and elastic-y. I’ve always liked eating paus, especially the skin part..i can eat the skin without the filling for the whole day!but store bought ones always ended up with wet skin from condensation and i can never satisfy my cravings

this time, i took a lot of care in kneading the dough and making sure that i’ve included a lot of air into the dough and giving them a lot of time to prove and rise :) happily, the PAU this time turned out really well! the PAU turned out to be white and fluffy, the sweetness of the flour and the savoury char siew made a good combination. :) i ate as i made and i think i’ve just about eaten an entire year’s supply of PAU today! the only problem was that i haven’t really mastered the art of folding the top of the paus to prevent the fillings from spilling out, this is something that i’ll have to practise more!yums

more pictures coming up!

Hello world!

Alright, it has been a really long time since I’ve blogged. but this time it will be totally different! I’ll be blogging about my culinary exploits and the things I see around me, I’m not sure if I will actually give this address out to anyone (who doesn’t want some attention?? LOL) but perhaps, I just want a place for me to record my food (mis-) adventures and a place to post all my beautiful pictures of blueskywhiteclouds

I think it will take me sometime to get used to this format, after all I was using blogspot faithfully for 2 years, and even my school clique is using blogspot still!wonder how I can arrange the photos that I’ve uploaded… *ponders*

alright, i shall do more updating tomorrow night, shall slap on a face mask, read some magazines and newspapers and off to bed! :D good night world…
